Adding product categories to Shopify is a simple but important task for any store owner. To begin, open your Shopify store admin dashboard and select Products from the left-hand menu. From this page, click ‘Categories’ in the middle of the page and select ‘Add a category’.

At this point, you will be asked to give your category a name, and you can also assign it a parent category, or leave it blank if it is the main parent category. Once the category has been created, you can assign products to it by selecting ‘Add products’.

This will show all products within the store, and you can select which ones to assign to the category. Finally, click ‘Save’ to finish adding the product category.
