Описание: Pioneer Field Agronomist Jeremiah Jones and Granular CSA Kelly Robertson discuss the state of the fields in Southern Illinois from the wet spring. Both corn and soybeans are seeing restricted root growth and nutrient deficiency because of tillage and planting completed on wet fields. Planting into wet soils or working soils too wet can cause smearing of the seed furrow sidewall, sidewall compaction from the disk openers, and a seed trench that does not close. This can cause uneven crop emergence. Restricted nodal root systems will reduce the plant’s ability to uptake water and nutrients, lowering yield potential. Evaluate and determine your soil’s readiness for spring field work by utilizing these tips: https://www.pioneer.com/us/agronomy/s...
