Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train: Surat–Bilimora Section Nears Final Stage | Big Update from Railways

Описание: India’s first bullet train project is moving ahead at full speed. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has confirmed that the 47-km priority section between Surat and Bilimora is now in its final construction phase, with all major civil works and track-bed laying completed.

Built with advanced engineering standards, the 508 km Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor features 85% of its route on viaducts to ensure minimal land impact and enhanced safety. So far, 326 km of viaduct has already been completed, along with 17 of the planned 25 bridges.

The Ministry of Railways aims to make the Surat–Bilimora stretch operational by 2027. Full operations are planned in stages, with Thane by 2028 and Mumbai by 2029. The corridor will have 12 stations, including Surat—whose station design is inspired by the city’s diamond industry and will offer seamless links to the Metro, buses, and Indian Railways.
