New upcoming release of Thea Wray’s Christmas Single “They Were There”
London, UK — December 2025 — Singer-songwriter Thea Wray announces the upcoming release of “They Were There,” on December 8th 2025. A contemporary Christmas song will be available on major streaming platforms worldwide. The track forms part of her contemporary Christmas cantata Dream Come True and is also included in her song book Songs for Life, Volume II.
The origins of They Were There trace back to Adamsrill Primary School in Forest Hill, London, where the first lyrics began to take shape as children filed out of a singing assembly. A demo was first recorded in November 2020, followed by a refreshed 2024 demo recording that introduced new lyrics and harmonies. Later that year, the song featured in the Christmas Carol Service at Rye Lane Chapel, offering listeners an early glimpse of its warm, narrative style.
They Were There which reminds us of the shepherds, angels and wise men, is intentionally adaptable, making it suitable for performance by choirs, worship bands, and small vocal groups.
