These homemade gluten-free hot dog buns are perfect for hot dogs, sandwiches, burgers, and meal prep. They are made with simple, natural ingredients, without additives, and they stay soft for a long time.
This recipe is very easy to follow, even if you are new to gluten-free baking. The dough is simple to prepare, and you don’t need any special equipment. You can mix everything by hand or with a hand mixer.
🧂 Ingredients:
300 ml warm water
30 ml olive oil
2 teaspoons psyllium husk
7 g dry yeast
A pinch of sugar or honey
300 g gluten-free flour
1 teaspoon salt
👩🍳 How to Make Gluten-Free Hot Dog Buns:
First, add warm water and olive oil into a bowl and mix well. Then add psyllium husk and wait a few minutes until it swells. Add dry yeast and a pinch of sugar or honey to activate the yeast. Next, add gluten-free flour and salt, and mix until you get a smooth dough.
Shape the buns with wet hands and weigh each bun (about 110–115 g) so they are the same size. Cover the buns and let them rest for at least one hour until they double in size. Bake them in a cold oven for 45 minutes.
The result is soft, fluffy, and tasty gluten-free buns, perfect for hot dogs or sandwiches.
