Reach Canada invited lawyers to present on various topics related to planning for people living with disabilities during SCS info session on April 24, 2019.
Presenter: J Richard Liss, OMM, CD (English)
Richard Liss was born in Truro, Nova Scotia. He received his Master in Business Administration from the University of Ottawa in 1986 and his Juris Doctor (JD – law degree) from the University of Ottawa in 2015.
Prior to entering the field of law, Mr. Liss was a member of the Canadian Forces for over thirty years where he was awarded the Order of Military Merit for outstanding meritorious service. He was also a manager at a local retirement home here in Ottawa.
After completing his articles with Barnes Sammon LLP, he joined the firm in the summer of 2016. He concentrates on estate work, wills and powers of attorney, family law matters, and civil litigation. Mr. Liss is an advocate for the elderly and the disabled, and for currently serving or retired members of the military.
Mr. Liss is a member of the County of Carleton Law Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
