In this video you can follow me on a 5 km orienteering course - including map and tracking.
The terrain is Rørvig Sandflugsplantage - a fairly open terrain, with a lot of detailed indland dunes.
I decided to try to stay on the line as much as possible, with focus on reading contour lines and staying on course.
On the long leg between 11 and 12 the path would have been faster, but that was a conscious choice. Generally this strategy worked fairly well until control 14 where i misread a path and control 15 where I veered off course and found the wrong tree root. I slowed down on the last half of the course but the training exercise was excellent and the forest beautiful.
Of - and of course there's the silly fall after control 17 where I stumpled over a simple log on a path. Yeah, it's dangerous out there. ;-)
