2011 nissan juke window motor and regulator replacement

Описание: the driver's side window would not roll down in this 2011 nissan juke. all the other windows worked just fine. so the fuse was fine, the window motor was getting power. i could hear a faint clicking when i tried to roll the window down. the motor was getting the signal, it just wasn't executing.

but it turns out that replacing the motor for the power windows is not too difficult (at least in the case of this nissan). you need a 10 mm socket (ideally with a small impact gun, but not required), a large flathead (to pop off the door panel), phillips screwdriver or bit, and some means of securing the window in place when you disconnect the glass from the bracket (in my case i chose painters tape because it was the first thing i saw that i thought might work). and the motor, obviously.
having just done the procedure, i could easily do it again in an hour tomorrow if i had to. if you are prepared, you can probably do it in 2-3 hours. i would have ordered the motor online but it was currently unavailable on amazon, and i saw that autozone in town had one in stock for $150. they didn't have just the motor or i would have only bought the motor, it was sold as a kit with the regulator. other places online did have it cheaper, but i was doing it for a friend and getting it done that day was easier and better. the owner told it would cost $1000 to fix at the dealership, so $150 plus a couple hours of work seemed like a deal.
initially i was a little stumped when i had to remove the bolts for the window glass/mounting bracket. i needed to roll the window down to be able to access the bolts ... but, well, my whole problem was that the window WOULD NOT ROLL DOWN! i was trying to figure how to awkwardly get at the bolts another way, then i finally just beat on the motor many times with the blunt end of my screwdriver, and thankfully convinced it to finally roll down.
once i got past that roadblock it was pretty easy and straightforward from there.
