The creative team for The Winter's Tale talks about bringing the play to screen. Set across a 16-year span from the 1953 coronation to the moon landings, Erica Whyman's production imagines a world where the ghosts of fascist Europe collide with horrors reminiscent of The Handmaid’s Tale, before washing up on a joyful seashore.
Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale is broadcast on BBC Four on Sunday 25 April 2021, 7pm before moving onto iPlayer. There will also be a BSL-interpreted broadcast on Thursday 29 April at 1.10am.
