I have finally maxed out the performance capacity of the old Emachines EL1352 small form factor PC from 2010.
NB !!! the vcore voltage is read incorrect in CPU-z, it's not running 2.2v but 1.3v in the BIOS.
Originally this machine was my parents PC and came with an AMD Athlon II X2 245 2.9GHz Dual Core CPU, 4GB DDR3 1066MHz ram, Onboard GeForce 6150SE graphics and a 640GB harddrive, 220watt Chicony PSU.
However after the harddrive failed and my folks got a new PC, I took this old machine to use for fun. I installed a new harddrive and the PC was working again.
Since then I have been using this little Emachines as an HTPC and now also as a living room gamer connected to the TV.
I have been through several upgrades to see how much power would actually be able to get out of it without modding anything.
The motherboard in this PC a model EL1350 should not be able to handle more than 4GB ram ! However with the same BIOS as from it left the factory I have been able to push it to 6GB ram, then 8GB ram and today I managed to get 16GB ram working in it !
The specs as the machine sits today are:
Emachines EL1352
16GB (2x8GB) Kingston HyperX Blue DDR3 1333MHz CL9.
EL1350 MCP61 BIOS P01-A1
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz (95 watt c3 revision)
ASL GeForce GTX 1050Ti Battle Flag 4GB (ASL G1504), overclocked GPU 1291@1391MHz, VRAM 1752@1952MHz
Seagate Barracuda 12 500GB HDD 3,5"
Hitachi-LG Data Storage HL-DT-ST GH60 DVD-Ram
Delta 250watt PSU
Windows 10 64Bit Home
I have tried installing an AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 95watt model, and while it is possible to get into the BIOS it doesn't recognize it properly and it won't boot on the harddrive, So a Phenom II X4 955 95watt model is the fastest CPU you can use on this motherboard.
