We’re Brian, Marisha, and Carlos (the dog), overlanding our way through Mexico one dirt road, taco stand, and glorious (sometimes questionable) campsite at a time. 🇲🇽🚐🐕
In this episode, vanlife gets very real. We leave rural Jalisco after visiting one of the coolest tequila distilleries we’ve ever seen, wander into the peaceful town of Valle de Guadalupe, and experience what daily overlanding in Mexico is actually like: hunting for purified water, getting local camping tips, and accidentally making new friends everywhere we go.
From camping near El Salto Lake, dodging bug invasions, bathing a dumpster-diving dog, and eating ridiculously good street tacos, to tire failures on the highway, last-minute camps, and an unforgettable final night near Sierra de Órganos National Park, this episode is packed with honest vanlife moments. The good, the sketchy, and the “why are we like this?”
We also tackle a border crossing with a van and a dog, share real-world IOverlander wins and fails, deal with mechanical issues on the road, and finally make our way back to the US after two full months of overlanding Mexico.
If you’re into:
• Vanlife as a couple
• Overlanding dirt roads and off-the-radar towns
• Traveling internationally with a dog
• Camping in Mexico
• Real, unscripted adventure travel
• Learning what actually works (and doesn’t) on the road
…this episode is for you.
Stick around for laughs, mild chaos, practical travel insight, and the kind of stories you only get when you actually live out of your vehicle. And yes, Carlos steals the show. Always.
