Vegan Mitarashi Dango 🍡
My absolute favorite mitarashi dango of all! Grilled rice cake covered in a sweet and salty sauce.
This shop called Kaede is selling their dango since 1999 and their mitarashi dango is inspired by Nagoya, where they use a stronger (more salty than sweet) sauce. As I’m more of a salty person, I'm happy to have this option available in Asakusa, where many of the shops sell sweet foods.
What’s special here is that they have the list of ingredients on the display (in Japanese), so it’s way easier to tell if it’s vegan-friendly. I also tried their nori dango (seaweed dango) but this one wasn’t really my taste. Their mitarashi dango is still my number 1! 😄
