On this week’s episode of New York’s Best Bagel, Henry Rosoff reviewed Best Bagel & Coffee in Midtown. He also reviewed Between the Bagel in Astoria.
Founded in 2009, Best Bagel & Coffee seeks to break the mold of mediocre Midtown spots. The service was quick and friendly, but the bagel itself was a big underwhelming. Rosoff scored it "6.5 Bagels."
Between the Bagel was founded just before the pandemic. The bagels are large with a generous helping of anything you want in "between." The shop seeks to blend the Jewish bagel tradition with Korean overtones — even offering a beef bulgogi bagel sandwich. Rosoff scored it "8 Bagels."
