Normally mere possession of meth for personal use is only a misdemeanor. And the person can almost always avoid jail or prison by completing drug diversion under PC 1000.
But sale or transportation of methamphetamine is a different story. This crime is a felony that can carry years of jail or prison time. Moreover, a person charged under Health & Safety Code 11379 is not eligible to participate in drug diversion.
