The overcrowding at Woking was caused by a points failure/ signalling fault at Brockenhurst, this meant every service operating between London Waterloo/ Reading and Bournemouth was delayed, cancelled or revised, this also affected stopping services between Woking and Basingstoke as well as Woking to Alton services because the platforms used by stopping services to Basingstoke and Alton services where being used by delayed services from Bournemouth/ Poole/ Weymouth terminated/ finished their journey at Woking and didn't call at Clapham Junction or London Waterloo, then started their next service from Woking. this happened to me with the 13.34 Farnborough to Weymouth and Bournemouth terminated at Basingstoke and was cancelled at Farnborough, Woking, Clapham Junction and London Waterloo, but the 12.34 to Weymouth and Bournemouth had a 63 minute delay, so despite the service running over 1 hour late, because of the I arrived back at Farnborough Main station after breaking my journey at 13.25 hoping to see the first train being on time and that train being the 13.34 to Weymouth and Bournemouth, 2nd train being the 13.43 to Basingstoke, and the third train being the 14.13 to Portsmouth Harbour. The only non affected services were the stopping services to Surbiton (Normally London Waterloo, but due to engineering works between Surbiton and Clapham Junction, the services were only going as far as Surbiton) and services to Portsmouth Harbour via Guildford
