Описание: It’s easy to forget that a part of Jesus’ childhood was spent outside of Bethlehem and the Holy Land. In the Big Book, the Gospel of Matthew briefly narrated the Holy Family’s flight into Egypt, but nothing more is said or know about where they lived or how long they stayed. Their sojourn in the land of the pads is shrouded in mystery…

Yet, in Eastern Christianity, particularly the Coptic Orthodox Church, there is a rich tradition that has developed around the Holy Family’s stay in Egypt. Local Egyptians, whether Christian or Muslim, take great pride in this special chapter in the life of Jesus and feel particularly close to the Holy Family, who travelled roughly some 1200 miles around their country and lived among their people during Jesus’ early years as a child.

Where did they live? How long did they stay? Did they see the pyramids? Come with me in this second episode of “In search of the Virgin Mary,” as I follow the path of what is supposedly the ancient route the Holy Family took when they lived in the Cairo area 2k years ago.
