Lions with cubs attack a single buffalo, they usually rely on teamwork, strength, and strategy because an adult African buffalo is extremely powerful and dangerous. Lions first try to separate one buffalo from the herd. A lone buffalo is much easier to attack than one protected by the group. Several lions may circle the buffalo, forcing it to run and turn in different directions. This tires the buffalo out. One or two lions leap onto the buffalo’s back or sides, using their claws to hold tight while others attack from different angles.
A lion often aims for the throat, neck, or nose. Once the buffalo loses balance or strength, the lions pull it down to the ground, where the kill becomes much easier. #lion #buffalo #wildlife #predator #prey #wildanimals
