A quick video involving smoking a pre-cooked ham for our church Christmas dinner! Bought a pre-cooked ham from H-E-B. Seasoned it with honey (get it down between the slices as much as you can...I used a basting brush to spread it around).
Then I seasoned the outside and between the slices with Meat Church Texas Sugar rub (great stuff, I highly recommend it!).
Smoked the ham at 250 for about 2-3 hours. Then I applied a root beer/pineapple glaze to it. (Full recipe from https://www.smoking-meat.com/ is listed below...thanks Jeff for the recipe!).
Let the ham cook for another 30ish minutes, remove, rest for a few and serve!
The Glaze (optional)
The honey and rub will add an amazing flavor to the ham but if you want to add a little something extra that goes really well, you can make this glaze:
• 1 cup of root beer
• ¼ cup brown sugar
• 1 TBS butter
• 2 TBS of whatever rub you used on the ham initially
• ½ cup crushed pineapple (no need to drain the juice)
Add the ingredients into a sauce pan over medium-high heat.
Bring to a boil and let it reduce for 6-8 minutes to thicken.
When it's finished, gently pour it all over the top of the ham.
If you are quick, you won't lose much heat.
