Hidden Fates is arguably one of the most popular sets that have ever been released in the Pokemon Trading Card Game. Filled with nostalgia and Full Art Shiny Pokemon, Hidden Fates was the first set to be released by Pokemon that really introduced the Pokemon Market to the world of allocations, and scalping.

Due to its high demand, Pokemon collectors were flocking to their local game store and retail stores to get their hands on the chance to pull that Full Art Shiny Charizard leaving nothing left on the shelves. The unprecedented demand was met with low supply causing may Pokemon Fans to pay above market pricing for the chance to open some of this set.

Pokemon responded to the demand by issuing multiple reprints and additional waves of Hidden Fates Tins, but it wasn't until over 2 years after the set released that Pokemon really dropped a bombshell. In an unexpected turn of events, Pokemon decided to reprint the popular Hidden Fates set in ETB form over 2 years after its release. With prices topping the $300 mark on ETBs, the market responded with excitement as an opportunity arose for a cheaper option to obtain this expensive product. Even with a giant Hidden Fates Elite Trainer Box reprint, prices still hovered over $100 for quite some time and have seemed to stabilize at that point for the past 2 years.
