http://www.timothyseaman.com Two Appalachian folk hymns on solo hammered dulcimer: The first, 'Pilgrim', is a variant of the British Isles ballad 'John Barleycorn', with anonymous words that include
Come, all you pilgrim travelers,
Fresh courage take with me;
Meantime I'll tell you how I came
This happy land to see:
Through faith, the glorious telescope,
I viewed the worlds above,
And God the Father reconciled,
Which fills my heart with love.
Second is the familiar tune 'Promised Land' with text by Samuel Stennett that includes
O the transporting, rapturous scene
That rises to my sight:
Sweet fields arrayed in living green
And rivers of delight!
A studio recording of this, with other instruments and the tune 'Babel's Streams', is on Timothy Seaman's album Cleansing Fountain, and can be sampled here: http://timothyseaman.com/index.php/di....
