In this video I'm going to show you how to perform the second pull and hip drive of the clean.
In fact, I used the technique strategies in this video to clean 315lbs, teach beginners, and even create USA Weightlifting National athletes..
With that, here's what you'll learn in today's video:
First, I'll show you the proper positioning in the second pull of the clean, and what the angles of the torso and legs should be.
Next, I'll review how to properly stand up to extend the hips and transition the barbell from the first pull and into the second pull of the clean, making sure to stay in balance throughout the full foot.
Next, we have the hip drive and vertical extension phase, which is often where many lifters push the barbell forwards.
Throughout the entire video, I will go over common faults and errors and review things in slow motion using annotations and markings to help better teach the positions.
