Exercises for volleyball. If your goal is to improve rotational strength for striking power, such as spiking a volleyball, then you will want to work to increase both rotational and anti-rotational strength. Improving rotational strength will help you produce more explosiveness and power through your range of motion. Increasing anti-rotational strength will help stabilize the body when the force of your hand meets the ball as you make contact. In order to build a strong core and demonstrate true power when spiking, it’s going to be important to work hard to increase both rotational and anti-rotational exercises for balanced development.
