Mainly to spread awareness of these great films and hopefully inspire more people to
seek them out.
Director - Jindrich Polák
Synopsis - The year is 2163. Starship Ikarie XB-1 embarks on a long journey across the universe to search for life on the planets of Alpha Centauri.
Now this is one cool movie - There’s no way it didn’t serve as an influence on many of the great sci-fi films that we know and love - everything from 2001, Solaris, Star Trek and even later sci-fi horror like Alien and Event Horizon. In fact, once you see this film and realize it pre-dates Kubrick’s masterpiece by a good 5 years, you’ll be in shock! I know I was. -- DM
