Yesterday’s vlog was truly unforgettable.

On our way towards the Tungnath Trail, one of the most scenic high-altitude routes in Uttarakhand, we were blessed with an extraordinary sighting — the Himalayan Monal, the state bird of Uttarakhand and one of the most iconic pheasants of the Himalayas.

Just a little ahead on the trail, we found a male Himalayan Monal feeding peacefully, completely undisturbed by our presence.
What made this moment truly magical:

The Monal stayed at the spot for over 30 minutes

It was very close, giving crystal-clear viewing opportunities

Our guests captured incredible photographs and beautiful video clips

The colours on its plumage glowed in the morning light, showcasing the bird in its full glory

These kinds of sightings are rare, unpredictable, and deeply rewarding — especially when they happen naturally and ethically.

🌄 The Tungnath Trail Experience

The trail, surrounded by alpine meadows, oak–rhododendron forests, and sweeping mountain views, offered the perfect habitat for high-altitude species.
While walking through these serene landscapes, every turn felt like a new surprise, and the Monal encounter became the highlight of the day.
