In tonight's edition: a court in Senegal upholds a life sentence for Chad's ex-leader Hissene Habre; in Kenya, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga will run for the presidency against President Kenyatta in August; and in Tunisia, seatbelts are now mandatory in the hope of curbing accidents.
After waiting for decades to draw a line under the bloody regime overseen by former Chadian dictator Hissene Habré, victims of his rule welcome confirmation from a Senegalese court that his life sentence for crimes against humanity will stand.
Also, Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga takes his fourth shot at the top job. He gets widespread backing from an opposition coalition and is named as presidential candidate in August elections.
And Tunisian drivers see a tightening of the rules of the road as the use of seatbelts is made compulsory. The law has changed in the hope of bringing down the number of fatal accidents in a country notorious for having some of the most deadly roads in north Africa.
