The house is solid, built to last — windows boarded up with linoleum and old doors, snow deep enough to slow you down. The only way in was through a broken window. And once inside — layer after layer of forgotten life: a couch, an armchair, a clay pot, intact chandelier lampshades, a sideboard still holding jars and small glasses. A large crate packed with sawdust — that's how fragile things were once stored for safekeeping. Or perhaps not only fragile things. What was kept in it?

The cellar required a risky climb down a shaky ladder and turned out to be a letdown — barrels, tires, snow coming through a tiny window. But the attic was worth every step. Not many people bother climbing up, which means things stay untouched. A bee smoker — there was a beehive here once. An antique washboard. A glass chimney from an oil lamp, completely intact. A Soviet-era faceted glass and a painted wooden spoon. And almost at the very end — a box with a medical cross. And next to it, something that looks like military blueprints. What were they doing here?
