This is my sister María Leticia Hernández (Soprano) performing María La O at her Master's Graduation Recital from Manhattan School of Music, held on April 7, 2012. María La O was composed by the excellent Cuban artist Ernesto Lecuona (1895-1963).
The pianist is Maestro Glenn Morton. The percussionist and violin are students of Manhattan School of Music too. The violin is played by Daniela Lancara and the percussion is performed by Héctor Flores.
This song is an amazing example of how universal music is. These four people are from different countries and backgrounds. They united to play this exquisite composition. We are the lucky ones that can hear them perform their artistry. Enjoy!
Soprano: María Leticia Hernández from Puerto Rico
Piano: Maestro Glenn Morton from USA
Violin: Daniela Lancara from Venezuela
Percussionist: Héctor Flores from Mexico
The music: Ernesto Lecuona from Cuba
