1997 AMA Supercross Round 2 from the LA Coliseum

Описание: This is the second round of the 1997 AMA Supercross Championship with 4-time champ, Jeremy McGrath makes a quick switch from Honda to Suzuki. This is NOT one of Tony Blazier's videos, this was given to me by a close friend. This is one of only 5 (including this one) races I have from 1997 Supercross. Two others; which are Round 1 and 5, are already on my channel.

This race is infamous for Edgar Torronteras the well known famous freestyle motocross rider scoring points in the 125cc main. Making him one of only three Spaniards in AMA Supercross history to score points (Oscar Lanza in 1995 and Manu Rivas sometime in 2007-2010) in a Supercross event. And making him the only Spaniard to date to have scored points in a 125 main event. This race is also famous for another freestyle motocross rider, Brian Deegan, taking his first ever 125cc main event win and launching his Suzuki off the finish line jump. It also leads to a disappointing finish for the defending 125 champ Kevin Windham as he crashes twice in the main event.

And in the 250cc class this marks the start of a crumbling defeat of Jeremy McGrath as he can't catch Doug Henry for the win in the Main Event. This race is also known for Jimmy Button crashing hard in the Main.
