Melk Abbey, the most important baroque building complexes in the world，officially Melk Abbey (Latin Abbatia SS. App. Petri et Pauli apud Melk), is a Benedictine abbey in the state of Lower Austria in the town of Melk on the right bank of the Danube. Today's baroque building was built by Jakob Prandtauer between 1702 and 1746. As a landmark of the Wachau, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
