This test pattern is generated at 10bit per channel then dithered down to 3/3/2 bits per R/G/B channels by delta-sigma algorithm. FPGA used is Papilio One. Screen resolution is 1280x1024
two least significant bits per every channel have resistors with the same resistance and because of that I could modulate only last bit/pin and still get nice gradients. With eg. green channel two first output pins are connected directly to [9] and [8] wires of generator signal and [7:0] is ΔΣ modulated with 'weight' of high level of 512 instead 511. It is unusual because it needs special wiring and cannot be directly used on normal available VGA boards or digital output like DVI. In those cases slightly different algorithm have to be used.
