Ride two very different railways in Northern Brazil.
EF Carajas an 892 km long Heavy haul Broad gauge line from iron ore mine in Carajás, southeastern Pará, to the Ponta da Madeirm Port, in São Luís (state of Maranhão)
EF Carajas is operated by Vale formerly Companhia Vale do Rio Doce, is the largest producer of iron ore and nickel in the world.
Amapa Railway. A mixed train runs from Porto Santana, to Serra do Navio 194km with an EMD SW1200. Located in the state of Amapa in the extreme north of Brazil this is the only standard gauge railway in the country . Starts at 28 min
Filmed in August 2006, I am unsure the current status of this line.
