How I Carve Letters / Carving a 'Walking Woodcrafters' Sign for my Carving Room - Part 1

Описание: In this video, Paul is starting work on carving a 'Walking Woodcrafters' sign for his Carving Room. This is Part 1 of a 2 part series and in this videos he focuses on carving the letters.

It is carved from Cherry wood. Paul used 2 tools to carve the lettering: a Kirschen - 2 Cherries (3351) carving knife and Flexcut Mini Chip knife (KN20)

As Paul states during the video, he is entirely a self-taught wood carver and his way of carving letters is the result of a trial and error approach - this is the way that suits him, but it is only one approach and not designed to be explicit instruction of the 'right' way to carve letters in wood.

It was a lovely hot day, so we headed to Laughare - where Dylan Thomas has his Boat House and Writing Shed - and sat in a shady spot on the banks of the estuary.
