There was a time when small buses or minibuses were the norm for transit and transport services where a full-size bus was not needed. Shuttle and Airport services and smaller cities that did not need a bus that was 35 to 40 feet long were its customers.
In this video, which is a mini historical documentary, we look at four small buses from three different countries:
1. The Mazda Light Bus of 1965 of Japan
2. The Bedford J2 and Bedford JJL of the UK
3. The Flxible Flxette of the USA
All of these buses were designed quite differently and may have had different uses than the other, but all carried up to about 25 passengers and were in service from the 1960s to the 1980s, generally.
