American blues guitarist David Grissom has a rather long pedigree of session work from John Cougar Mellencamp, Dixie Chicks to The Allman Brothers, Storyville and others.
With his hybrid picking style and his solo choices, he's created a unique voice in Texas blues guitar, a voice that rings loud and true in his Austin, Texas band Storyville.
"What Passes for Love" is a prime example of the power and emotion he puts into his guitar. Grissom penned the tune and it was first recorded by original bluesbreaker John Mayall for his 1995 album "Spinning Coin."
It is a powerhouse tune, both in guitar structure and lyric and beyond a blast to play.
