Centre of Fintech & Terrradock Hackathon

Описание: Royal Docks School of Business and Law (RDSBL) , in partnership with the School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering (ACE), hosted a dynamic FinTech Hackathon, bringing together talented students from across disciplines to design innovative, real-world digital finance solutions.
The Hackathon united students from MBA FinTech, MSc Blockchain & FinTech, LLM FinTech Law, and BSc Computer Science (Level 6) into five cross-disciplinary teams. Each team was challenged to build a mobile/web application for a financial institution that could track and ensure compliance with ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) regulatory requirements—an increasingly critical concern in the global finance space.
Combining both virtual and in-person collaboration, the intensive hybrid programme featured weekly milestones, mentorship from academic experts and guidance from industry professionals, culminating in a Final Pitch Day on 8 April, judged by a panel of senior industry leaders including a representative from the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
The student teams were assessed on: Innovation & Creativity, Functionality & Technical Implementation, User Experience & Design, Impact & Feasibility and Presentation & Communication.
Professor Iwa Salami, Director of UEL’s Centre of FinTech, concluded: "The Hackathon not only reinforced UEL’s position as a leader in FinTech education and innovation but also showcased the transformative power of collaboration between business, law and tech disciplines in solving today’s complex financial challenges."
