Swiftly swinging towards the Spring【illustration speedpaint】

Описание: Today I want to take you a couple months back. This beautiful fairy has been waiting for her debut here on Youtube since September! I initially shared this illustration at the end of Summer and today you can watch her come to life, just weeks before Spring arrives. How fitting!

Regarding the process itself... Oh what an adventure it was! When I started working on that illustration the concept in my mind wasn't too specific, besides a picture of a fairy swinging on a thin branch, wearing a frilly dress. Initially I thought of incorporating some dew, droplets or rain but it wasn't anything specific either.

At my first attempt I failed miserably... Sometimes you have to admit that the concept doesn't click and even though it already grew on me, it was better to let go and skip to another theme.

But I didn't wanna! Sometimes you feel that urge to stick to the idea no matter how many attempts it takes! I'm so happy I didn't abandon my swinging fairy completely.

The second time work flew more intuitively but also with more focus and this is the part you can watch in video. I also let myself get inspired by my surroundings instead of bringing this picture to life solely from imagination. I live surrounded by garden and forest, duh! Why did it take me so long to notice the ultimate inspiration, the nature?!

In the end, trusting my gut has led me to creating that small fairy gracefully swinging on a spider's thread in a setting sun.
