I found 170 year old+ log cabins made of native cedar (Junipers) at Pioneer Farms.
My daughter, grandson and I were visiting the Austin Celtic Festival (which see: https://www.austincelticfestival.com/ ) and I took the time to talk about making a 1000 year home out of native materials.
I look at the challenges of termite control for 1000 years. This will be tough even with cedar. I explore some of the oldest timber frame buildings in the world.
This site is a treasure for those in the central Texas area. Well worth a visit. I hope it is around in 1000 years!
