STORYLINE:
High school students in the northern French city of Lille set rubbish bins and electric bikes ablaze during a third consecutive day of protests Wednesday, demanding more resources for schools.

Tensions flared outside a barricaded high school, where masked and hooded protesters threw projectiles at police officers.

Firefighters arrived to extinguish garbage fires burning along the pavement as protesters gathered outside the school.

Police used tear gas several times and charged at the group in response to the projectiles.

The protests are part of a growing student movement demanding greater funding and resources for French schools.
