Описание:
The breathing length of a long welded rail (LWR) is the part at each end of the rail that changes length due to temperature fluctuations. In India, the breathing length of a broad gauge (BG) track is about 100 meters on each end.
Explanation
The breathing length expands and contracts due to temperature changes.
Switch Expansion Joints (SEJs) are installed at each end of the LWR to allow the breathing lengths to expand and contract.
The SEJs are designed to accommodate a total length movement of plus or minus 60 millimeters.
The SEJs take care of any defects in the joint or support provided by the sleepers.
