I made it to my first Innovations in Flight! When the event ended, I was surprised to see that everyone could gather to watch all the aircraft leave, and it was awesome! Six helicopters (civil and military), a few light military aircraft, most of the general aviation aircraft, and the USAF Globemaster left under their own power, and the United B767-300 was towed out (I managed to stand right underneath it's APU, which is a little jet engine, while it was operating 😍). When the helicopters were taking off, they were, at closest, within about 100 or 200 ft, so close that when they took off, the wind was blowing all the dry grass around 😀 this helicopter, belonging to the USAF 1st Helicopter Squadron, was the helicopter that started up nearest me.
