Backed by the NDA and YSRCP, Radhakrishnan secured 452 votes—much higher than expected—defeating opposition INDIA bloc nominee Justice B. Sudershan Reddy, who polled 350. The margin indicates cross-voting in favour of the NDA candidate. The election saw participation from top leaders including PM Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
