Seminole Pow Wow 2025 – Day 2! 🎥🔥
Hey everyone, Aaron here – the guy behind the camera!
Day 2 of the Seminole Pow Wow was packed with energy, powerful specials, and some unforgettable moments. After struggling with battery issues on Day 1, I had to take a Lyft to an Amazon locker to pick up a last-minute order-a bigger TSA-approved battery that made a huge difference.
I started the morning at the casino café and paid $4.50 for the most watered-down coffee ever 🤦♂️ At least the breakfast burrito was good. By now, most of the media crew knew each other, and things felt a lot more relaxed. I did start wondering-what was the point of the media pass if so many people were filming with their phones anyway? But hey, better safe than sorry.
Highlights from the Final Day
Wes Studi made an appearance! I was hoping to get a selfie, but he barely stayed after grand entry. Even the MCs were calling for him to come back! It would have been great if he hung out with the MCs for a mimimum of an hour. With 2025 marking the 33rd anniversary of The Last of the Mohicans, I wish he had stuck around longer!
High-energy specials! The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Red Dress Special, Spike Draper Men's Fancy Special, and Dylan Isaacs Smoke Dance Special were all back-to-back and absolutely incredible to watch.
The Smoke Dancers stole the show! Their movements were so fast, fluid, and in sync with the beat-it was unreal! The way they struck a pose at the end of each song had me clapping behind the camera.
The Reality of Pow Wow Travel:
This was my biggest YouTube trip so far, and I had a budget of $800, mostly from my November YouTube earnings (thank you all for watching & supporting!) Here's how it broke down:
Round-trip flight (Phoenix to Miami): $350 (American Airlines)
Extra $40 for a checked bag one way, plus another $45 for the second bag. I wasn't paying that, so I repacked everything into one heavy 35lb backpack, including my camera gear!
Motel 6 in Dania Beach: $150 per night (2 nights paid upfront).
City bus to the pow wow: $2.50 (way better than paying for Lyft both ways).
Food: The cheapest options at the casino were $10+, but food vendors outside had frybread rounds starting at $6 and other meals around $14.
Final Night & Trip Back to Phoenix:
After the pow wow ended, I chose to sleep at the airport instead of booking another motel to save money-but I barely got any sleep. I went straight through TSA at 2am and I got maybe 20 minutes of sleep, then ended up working on a future youtube project, until my 7am flight back to Phoenix.
This trip definitely pushed my limits, but I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.
