日付が変わった12/18(金)AM2:00･･･12月の第二弾で選曲したのは 長寿アニメの代表作｢ガンダム｣シリーズの中でも かなりの人気を博している｢ガンダムW(ウイング)｣の主題歌｢Just Communication｣です。今年の7月に 最新シリーズ｢ 機動戦士Gundam GQuuuuuuX｣の曲を2作アップした際, 個人的にガンダムシリーズを調べてみようと云う思いに駆られ, 歴代のガンダムシリーズの主題歌やエンデイング, 更には折々で創作された挿入歌を時系列的に聞きまくり･･･その中で個人的に気に入ったのが, この曲でしたね。
調べてみて知ったのですが･･･日本のアニメ作品で, 第一期作品から数えて50年以上=半世紀を超えて今なお継続されている作品が, ｢サザエさん｣｢ドラえもん｣そして｢ルパン三世｣と3作あるそうですが, ガンダムシリーズはこれら3作に次ぐ4番目の長寿作品で, 1979年4月の放送開始から数えて46年目を迎えるとの事。それ程に長く続く過程では, 時代の推移に伴い, 作品のコンセプトや作風, 或いは登場人物のキャラクターも次第に移り変わっていくのでしょう。今回セレクトした｢Just Communication｣は1995年4月に放送を開始した｢新機動戦士ガンダムW(ウイング)｣のオープニングテーマ曲ですが, 作品自体も従来のファン層に加えて, 女性ファン層をも開拓した点で, 評価の高い作品のようです。歌っているのはユニット名｢TWO-MIX｣。男女のペアで歌っていたようですが, そのうちの女性ボーカルである高山みなみさんは, Singerと云うよりも声優としての実績の方が高名なのだとか。｢忍たま乱太郎｣の猪名寺乱太郎役や｢名探偵コナン｣の江戸川コナン役等･･･数多くの名作に関わってきた=真に第一人者なのですが,｢TWO=MIX｣では作曲も担っていたとあるので, 多方面での才能をお持ちなのでしょう。実際･･･私自身が, 何十曲も聞いた｢ガンダムシリーズ｣の曲の中で一番 気に入ったのが･･･今風のメロデイに加え, リズミカルで気持ちをincreaseするような抑揚感を滲ませるこの曲でした。唯･･･私自身の出来栄えは･･･今いちだったかな？次にアップする曲が, 多分2025年最後の曲となるので･･･挽回したいですね。

The date has just changed, and it's 2:00 AM on Friday, December 18th... My second selection for December is "Just Communication," the theme song for the extremely popular "Gundam Wing" series, one of the most popular long-running anime series, the "Gundam" series. When I uploaded two songs for the latest series, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," in July of this year, I was personally driven to research the Gundam series, and I listened to the theme songs and endings of all the Gundam series in chronological order, as well as the insert songs that have been created from time to time...and this song was my personal favorite. After some research, I learned that there are three Japanese anime series that have been running for over 50 years (i.e., over half a century) since their first season: "Sazae-san," "Doraemon," and "Lupin the Third." The Gundam series is the fourth longest-running, reaching its 46th year since its first broadcast in April 1979. Over such a long run, it's inevitable that the concept, style, and even the characters will gradually evolve over time. The song I selected this time, "Just Communication," is the opening theme for "New Mobile Suit Gundam Wing," which began airing in April 1995. The series itself is highly acclaimed for cultivating a female fanbase in addition to its traditional fanbase. It's sung by the unit "TWO-MIX." Apparently, the song was sung by a male-female pair, but the female vocalist, Minami Takayama, is more famous as a voice actress than as a singer. She's a true pioneer, having been involved in numerous masterpieces, including the role of Inadera Rantaro in "Nintama Rantaro" and Edogawa Conan in "Detective Conan." She also apparently composed the music for "TWO=MIX," suggesting she's talented in many areas. In fact, of the dozens of "Gundam" songs I've listened to, this one is my favorite, with its modern melody and rhythmic, evocative intonation. However, I wonder if my performance wasn't quite up to par? The next song I upload will likely be my last for 2025, so I'd like to make up for it.
