The annual Ballinasloe horse market in Ireland is one of the oldest and largest in Europe. It is said that even Napoleon Bonaparte bought his stallion Morengo here. The fair takes place every October and is the main event in the small town. It attracts up to 80,000 visitors - and not only from Ireland and neighbouring countries, but even from Australia!
