One-year-old Kay, who joined our herd in April, is quickly adjusting to life at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Not only is she out of quarantine, she has met most of the herd! She has made quick friends with Viv, is fascinated with six-month-old Wednesday, and has quickly become the object of Ohe's eye.
Kay is curious and comfortable around other giraffe, keepers and guests. Kay has been taking lettuce from guests and is eager to approach keepers. Because Kay has been so comfortable in new spaces, she has been able to investigate new sights, sounds and smells in the main giraffe yard.
Not only is Kay excellent at shifting into new spaces, she has quickly shifted into our hearts. Next time you're at CMZoo, look out for Kay, who is the second smallest in the herd, next to Wednesday.
