Multiple Sclerosis LEMTRADA Side Effects

Описание: 1 in 3 people may go on to to develop an autoimmune disease after being treated with Alemtuzumab / Lemtrada. One of the most common side effects is ITP (Immune thrombocytopenic purpura) and a thyroid problem which about 20-30% of people get after treatment with lemtrada.

I developed hairloss and vitiligo after my alemtuzumab / Lemtrada treatment and although I didn't realise at the time that they had any correlation to the treatment I later did some research to find out that both my side effects were in fact caused by my treatment.

I have read that with hair loss associated with Lemtrada, steroids can be used to speed up the growth process, however this would obviously be a conversation which you would have with your neurology team.

This is not to say that everyone treated with a disease Modifying treatment will go on to have any of these side effects and it also depends on how the body reacts to the treatment.
