Chenrizig is the Budhisattva of compassion, and the most beloved Budhisattva for all Buddhist. He is also known as Avalokiteshvara in India, Kuan Yin in Chinese, and Kannon in Japanese.
The Mantra for Chenrizig is:
OM MA NI PAD ME HUM.
The meaning of each syllable is as following:
OM- Purification of pride.
MA- Purification of jealousy.
NI- Purification of desire.
PAD- Purification of ignorance.
ME- Purification of attachment.
HUM- Purification of anger.
The benefit of chanting the Mantra of Compassion is, from the purification of our disturbing emotions in our mind, we can liberate our spiritual being and also liberate all six realms of sentient beings from their sufferings, through the compassion of Chenrizig and the practice of the six syllable mantra.
