When Meta Horror Becomes Just Plain Exhausting | Rubber Review

Описание: Rubber (2010) Review — this week in Basement 1-F, Lumpy and Rufus tackle Quentin Dupieux’s bizarre “killer tire” movie that insists it has no reason… and somehow makes that everyone else’s problem.

Rubber is a meta horror film about a sentient tire that rolls through the desert blowing up animals, people, and eventually any remaining patience the audience might have. Along the way, an in-movie audience watches the events unfold, the film refuses to end, and the sheriff running the show seems just as confused as we are.

Is Rubber secretly brilliant? A bold experiment in meta filmmaking?
Or is it just a smug idea stretched way past its breaking point?

We break down the plot (good luck), the “no reason” philosophy, the killer tire’s rampage, and why this movie feels more like an anthology short that escaped into feature length.

Spoiler alert: We don’t recommend Rubber. Not even a little bit.
