JLENS anti-cruise missile defense system: an explainer

Описание: The JLENS system consists of two unmanned 74-meter aerostats at a height of 10,000m. The aerostats carry radar systems that provide 360 degree coverage for hundreds of miles over land and sea. In a recent test JLENS was used to track and destroy a mock cruise missile in conjunction with a PAC-3 missile. As well as detecting cruise missiles, JLENS can also be used to detect and track low flying jet fighters, unmanned aircraft and ballistic missiles.
