2. What is your holy grail moisturizer under your styler?
Abena says-Water is my moisturizer, followed by Shea Moisture Shea Butter Leave Conditioner with Jojoba Oil, Aloe Vera and Vitamen E.

or Do you apply your styling product in sections?

Abena says-Absolutely in sections for complete coverage, better definition, style lasts longer.

3. Do you rake, smooth, shingle, etc.?
Abena says-A gentle rake, mostly smooth to remove tangles.

4. How long does your wash n go typically last?
Abena says-7 to 9 days, by day 9 my scalp is dirty and itchy.

5. How do you preserve your wash n go?
Abena says-a variation of the pineapple using only a silk scarf.

6. Do you get tangles or single strand knots when you do wash n gos?
Abena says-: It depends on how much I handle my hair without the protection of the silk scarf

7. Does your climate effect how or when you wear wash n gos?
Abena says-Since WNG is my go to hairstyle. I may delayed washing if it’s too cold to go out immediately afterwards.

8. What do you use to seal in the moisture and does this help with decreasing crunch?
Abena says-Eco Styler Gel is my proven sealer.

9. Do you style your wash and gos on damp or wet hair?
Abena says-on soaking wet hair.
10. What advice would you give a new natural about wearing their wash and go?
Abena says-
1) start out with a soft hold gel to get accumstom to the technique, a strong hold gel may be too much to handle.
2) It is your unique curl pattern defined. Do not be discouraged if it does not look like my wNg. I have been doing the techniques for 2.5 years, it would be like comparing yourself as a new driver to someone who has been driving for years.
3) You don’t want to disturb curl by touching it while it is still drying, or even going out on a windy day before the curls set.
4) Air drying will give you the most moisture retention. If you do a complete air dry start early in the day. Heat styling will give you an immediate style but will wear out quicker, ie. more frizz.
